How CreditKaren works
CreditKaren is an educational tool. It reads a credit report you already have and helps you understand what each section says, so you can decide for yourself what is worth reviewing for accuracy.
What you can do with the tool
- Upload a credit report PDF you downloaded from a bureau or from AnnualCreditReport.com.
- See a plain-English breakdown of the sections and entries in that report.
- See which entries may be worth reviewing for accuracy, with an explanation of why.
- Organize your questions and supporting documentation before you decide on next steps.
- Read the free guides in the Learn hub without uploading anything at all.
What the AI may flag
The review points out entries that a consumer commonly wants to double-check: personal information that does not match your records, duplicate-looking accounts, balances or statuses that appear inconsistent, dates that look unusual, and inquiries you may not recognize. A flag is a prompt to look more closely. It is not a finding that something is wrong, and it is not a legal conclusion.
What the tool does not do
- It does not guarantee that any dispute will be accepted or resolved in your favor.
- It does not remove, delete, or change anything on your credit report. Only the bureaus and furnishers can change report data.
- It does not predict, promise, or produce a credit score change.
- It does not affect loan, card, or rental approval decisions.
- It does not provide legal, financial, tax, or credit-repair advice.
Accurate information generally stays on a credit report. Disputes are appropriate when information appears inaccurate or incomplete, not as a way to challenge information you know to be correct.
How your uploaded report is handled
CreditKaren does not require an account, and it does not build a user profile of your credit history. The PDF you select is read in your browser to extract its text, and that text is sent for AI analysis so the review can be produced. Report content is processed for that session only and is not retained after the analysis completes or the session ends. Results shown on screen live in your browser session and are cleared when you reset or leave.
An email address is collected before an analysis runs and is used only to apply a daily usage limit so the free tool is not abused. The email is not stored or retained after the analysis completes. See the Privacy Policy for the full description of what is collected.
We do not claim any specific security certification, compliance audit, or encryption standard beyond what is described here and in the Privacy Policy. We do not store your credit report information or email address.
What to do with the results
Use the output as a study aid. Compare the flagged entries against your own statements and records, gather documentation, and read the relevant guide in the Learn hub. If your situation involves identity theft, litigation, bankruptcy, or a dispute you have already escalated, consider speaking with a qualified attorney or a nonprofit credit counselor.
Cost
The educational review and the Learn hub are free to use. There is no paid tier and no checkout.
